Thoughts:   The fourth in the series sees Marek obtain the final piece of darkspore as her questing band continue to battle evil.

The series seems to get right back on track here with the end looming. The whole thing feels tighter, with a firmer script and smarter direction.

Perhaps it's just a matter of the actors working with more understanding, or just the new director.

My biggest issue is with the introduction of a steam powered battle wagon. This seems to be a little random, and the technology doesn't really appear anywhere else.

Suddenly, without warning, this appears four films in and just doesn't fit.

In addition some of the way it is used is a tad unrealistic, with the characters making some illogical decisions. It's a shame as I think the idea of a rival questing group is a good one.

I may be a little over critical as that sort of thing is something I don't especially like in gaming either.

That aside the film advances the story arc quite well and we really get a strong sense of Marek's personal battle.

It's a shame that so much improvement in the script and direction is let down by a story element.
